THE LESSON, WE SOUTH INDIANS SHOULD LEARN FROM RAMAYANA!!!
The RAMAYANA is, no doubt, the soul and spirit of India and an amazing epic in world literature. And etymologically, RAMAYANA means the journey of RAMA ! As such it's the journey of him from the northern AYODHYA to the southern LANKA, via DANDAKARANYA!
If we closely and historically observe it as the evolution of state system in India, many surprising facts may come onto our mind...
1) The RAMAYANA is the journey of RAMA to conquer the southern parts, which are located down the NARMADA-TAPATI rivers or Down the VINDHYA-SATPURA MOUNTAIN RANGES..
Earlier, the northern kingdoms confine themselves to those native lands only. But the journey of RAMA led to expand the power of Northern kingdoms over the south lands.
2) Since the time immemorial, india is having a distinct and diversified character and nature of 2 prominent divisions, viz., North and South parts, which are very much significant and different from one another in terms of culture, traditions, practices, languages, etc.
RAMA represent the North culture, while the other vanaras and other kings including RAVANA, represent the south.
3) Here, it's noteworthy that, the North culture is of ARYAN CULTURE, while the South culture is of DRAVIDIAN CULTURE, where we have the evidences from the annals of INDUS VALLEY CIVILIZATION..
4) In the light of the above instances, it's crystal clear that, RAMAYANA is the war between the NORTH and SOUTH power centres and kingdoms. In other words, it's the war between the ARYANS and DRAVIDIANS..!!
5) RAMAYANA ends with the sacrifice of the valorous warrior king RAVANA. But, the idea behind the RAMAYANA had continued in later times also, from the MAURYAN KINGS to GUPTHAS to DELHI SULTANS to MUGHALS to the independent INDIA..
This phenomenon can easily visible from the political developments that have been taken place in india, since 1947. Though the governance of India is of parliamentary democracy, based on the constitution of India, the governments formed in north states and South states are very different, since 1950s.
6) The unique feature of Southern states is the rule and dominance of regional parties than national parties. At times, even the national parties have been limited to mere presence and played very nominal and dependant role, as they didn't get the support and encouragement from the people of Southern states..
7) It's the fact that, the Northern rulers of ancient, mediaeval and modern times to the free india times, have a perennial desire to expand, establish, conquer the southern bastions from regional kingdoms in ancient times and regional parties, in the present times.
But the contemporary history proved that, everytime, the dreams of Northern rulers have become futile, due to the solidarity, unity, culture and strength shown by South people, whenever, their culture and IDENTITY, fall into peril, from the invasions and intrusions of North..
8) After, 7 long decades of free Indian democratic history, that perennial desire, which is dormant so far, and lust for power to capture and conquer the southern cultures by the Northern culture, had erupted again.
This time,
It's wings are very wide and powerful..
Its claws are very strategic and cruel..
9) Gradually, the Northern Aryan supremacy is creeping into the southern lands, in a very emotional guise, in many avatars, through a democratic set-up, to vanquish the southern DRAVIDIAN self respect..
10) it seems that, an undeclared war of NORTH ARYANISM on the SOUTH DRAVIDIANISM has been staged, now..
11) we, DRAVIDIANS of SOUTHERN PARTS OF INDIA have survived after many battles and sacrificed our lives and kingdoms to protect our SELF RESPECT since the times of RAMAYANA..
12) now, it's need of the hour to raise and rise again to protect, preserve our own soul, THE SELF RESPECT, and propagate and declare to the world that, we, SOUTH INDIANS, live with dignity and respect forever...
